Purpose: The mission of this program is to provide a long course (50 meter) training opportunity to participants. While swimming technique will be worked on during each practice session, conditioning will be emphasized in the training program. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and perform training concepts similar to those used by the Olympic and World-class athletes that Head Coach Dan Schinnerer has worked with in his career. The program will be divided into skill levels with practices ranging from 3,000 to 7,000 meters in length. All participants must be registered with USA Swimming, although they are not required to "attach" to Bison Aquatics Club through USA Swimming. Participants must be at least 10 years old and capable of handling the minimum workout distance. For the junior swimmers (ages 10-12) we encourage strong competitive swimming background before participating in the training program.

The Summer Training session will begin Monday, June 4th and run through Friday, July 20th. Normal summer training schedule will be 7-9am, Monday through Friday mornings, and Saturday from 8-10am.
The practice schedule is subject to change as we will have to work around different scheduling conflicts at Kinney Natatorium such as holiday building closures, summer swim meets, and summer camps, but we will inform you of any changes as far in advance as possible.
This option is for the serious swimmer who is ready to train 5-6 days a week. We will build up our training intensity at the start of the session, but the participants should be comfortable handling practices from 5,000-7,000 meter in length when in shape.
This option is available to 10-14 year olds who are interested in taking advantage of the long course training program, but may be limited in time commitment. The junior group will run on on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in the summer. While the workouts will be shorter in distance than the "typical workout," participants should be comfortable doing practices of 3,000-4,000 meters in length. If necessary we will have a division of age/skill levels inside of the junior training group.
This option is available to the master level swimmers, who are balancing training with work, family, or other commitments. The Masters Training group will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays. The Masters program will begin on Tuesday, June 5th and run through Thursday, July 19th.
